Welcome to SAMNet ERSA’s macroeconomic model database initiative

The South African Modelling Network (SAMNET) is a platform that promotes the development and sharing of modelling and forecasting tools for the South African economy. It is born from the idea of keeping South Africa apace with macroeconomic developments at the global level by pooling resources and connecting national policy and academic research with global trends. The primary focus of the network is to encourage participation regarding the development of these models, which focus on monetary and financial stability. We organise workshops attended by both national and international participants, which promote discussion and learning in this regard. Participants are encouraged to join this network not only by attending the workshops, but also by joining an economics community in which they can share and discuss their coding and modelling frameworks.
