Derek Yu is a professor of Economics at University of the Western Cape and a part-time researcher for the DPRU at UCT. He completed his doctorate degree in Economics at the Stellenbosch University. His research interests include Labour Economics, Development Economics, Household Survey Analysis, and Economic Education.
